Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region

Mission

Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Programs and Services

We serve children ages 6-18 years of age. We now serve children enrolled in our program until age 25. Offering our Community-Based and School-Based programs, children are engaged in one-to-one mentoring. This type of mentoring is proven to help reduce dropout rates and raise grades. It reduces drug and alcohol use and helps to encourage positive choices and avoidance of risky behavior. Our new Big Futures program helps to provide information and guidance to those moving on to the next phase of their life while having the support of our staff and their long-standing mentor. This increases their potential to become active and participating adults in their communities.
